Shapeshifting Energy of Eclipse Season!

A few times a year, we are blessed with eclipse energy, or what I like to call, shapeshifting opportunities (now you see me, now you don't?)

August 12 brought us a New Moon Solar Eclipse in the fire sign of Leo, whose energy is bold and warm and radiant (have you felt this extra love the past few weeks??) Since there are always two eclipses a few weeks apart, the next one will be a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse happening on August 28 in the watery sign of Pisces who is known as the mystical fish of the zodiac.

For years I’ve paid close attention when eclipse season comes around as the energies activate our path of evolution; more specifically they activate the nodes on our birth chart which refer to our karma/dharma.

Your Karma (South Node) is relative to past, those lessons learned or what you carried into this life. Your Dharma (North Node) is relative to your future, your path of evolution or basically, what your life purpose is this time around.

This makes for the perfect time to do a little soul-searching and make any shapeshifting changes that have been calling. My practice is simple. Look to see what sign and house your nodes fall in as they are the lens of what is being activated for you right now; especially notice where the North Node is since that offers direct guidance and/or affirmation as to where you are on this path.

For instance, my North Node is in Sagittarius, who I call the visionary; it sits in my 5^th House which is relative to children and creativity. My discerning self now knows a big part of why I am here is to be that visionary for my kids and my creative projects which is so true!! Take it one step further and look to see if you have any placements in the eclipse sign (Pisces for the 28^th eclipse). My moon is in Pisces so that tells me there is more light shining down for me to notice (but I have to look up!)  My moon is in my 8^th House of transformation. So how to put it all together to make any sense?

 Keep it simple, just glean a few buzz words for guidance or use as a mantra. The interpretation is totally up to you. Here’s mine based on the above:

Visionary, children, creativity, mystical, transformation. 

Wow. I’ve always considered myself a visionary so that is a great affirmation that I’m cosmically hard wired that way. And those buzz words accurately reflect what’s happening on my radar these days.  So now I can go deeper with my intentions since I know that’s what’s being activated for me.

I don't claim to be an astrologer as I’m certainly not, however, in my own heyoka way I find it fascinating to assign buzz words to the signs, planets and houses to look for insight under the new and full moons, especially eclipsing ones, why not?!  Eclipses offer us transitional reflections or moments for us to enact change in our lives with a bit of cosmic support. They need not be anything drastic, subtle shifts often last the longest. All to say, the time is nigh to set those intentions of how YOU may wish to shapeshift. Really try to take an intentional step, no matter how big, toward or onto your desired path of evolution, for this cosmic wind is at your back!

The last thing I look at is what degree the eclipse is happening in and then look to see if that degree shows up on my chart as well. If so, think of that as a cosmic flashlight shining down on you with something that is REALLY trying to get your attention.

At the end of the day, if we can get into the nitty gritty details of our intentions this month, then the Universe has a better reflection of how to help us manifest. Likewise, if we learn to acknowledge these cosmic hints then we can more easily access this knowledge.
