A Little More About Grace

Grace “Medicine Bear” Walsh is a Reiki Shamanism Master Teacher whose ‘good medicine’ gifts offer a non-ordinary reflection to your path.

Of Welsh, Irish and Cherokee descent, if you were to ask her what this good medicine is about, she’d say it’s relative to her Virgo’ness (detail oriented and discerning), and of being a Heyoka (alternate view, origin of word is Lakota ‘contrary’) and of being a visionary Bear Dreamer who sees beyond the layers of ordinary time and space and whose practice is about going within to seek the deeper meaning.

This discerning mama bear energy combines to create a powerful medicine bag of healing, wisdom, insight and guidance to anyone’s healing path and journey. Call on her if you need a higher reflection, some healing help, wish to learn more or an arrow to follow as you seek your own deeper meaning.

My spiritual journey began at a very young age. As a child, I was ever curious about all things mystical and had a natural tendency towards words of wisdom. My younger sister used to call me "Socrates” and we would laugh as the years went on and she shifted that moniker to “Soothsayer”. Though it seemed I was a wisdom keeper by nature, it took many years before I stepped into the shoes of Wisdom Walker. I am ever grateful to all of my spiritual teachers whose reflections offered a higher glimpse of my own and helped me to finally step into those shoes.

A wise music shaman once told me “if you don’t step into your shoes, someone else will” - Ah!

Reiki has engaged my passionate interest since early 2003. As a Reiki practitioner, I found answers on my path towards self-healing. In 2005 I completed my Reiki Master Teacher training and have since opened the door for others to do the same. My most recent calling as a Reiki Shamanism Master Teacher has further enlightened and awakened these natural abilities for me, as I continue to practice and teach in this awe inspiring, multi- dimensional environment.

I have come to believe through my own experiences that the causes of our physical ailments are usually rooted in the unbalanced energy of our mental/emotional state. This is perhaps the simplest answer as to why ‘energy healing’ modalities work. By discovering the metaphysical reasons underneath our physical ailments, we can finally release and clear these negative patterns and blocks while opening the way back to healing and wholeness. Balance is restored when we intentionally set our course to one of wellness and health.

When one lets go of the ‘normal’ for the non-ordinary, the pathways to new perceptions open.

Healing occurs in many ways; some profoundly in the physical way of recovery and for others, healing is whatever is necessary on a spiritual/emotional level in order to make that peaceful transition to the other side. As a Psychopomp (soul crosser), I have assisted human souls in both dream time and real time, as well as some animal beings as well, in their transition process of returning to their divine source.

Over the years, I have worked with cancer and hospice patients, Veterans suffering from PTSD, elderly clients and the chronically ill; often volunteering Reiki not only for the patient, but the family as well. As a prior volunteer with Hospice of the South Shore, I am ever grateful for the opportunity to assist families with these energy healing choices.

Deeply connected in spirit to a Cherokee great grandmother whom I've never met, I know the heartbeat of my native blood runs deep in my veins for it is these native roots that keep me in tune with all aspects of nature. As an attuned student of Reiki Shamanism, I feel as if I am finally home, walking the path of a Bear Medicine Woman along the sacred hoop of life known as the Medicine Wheel.

On the Summer Solstice in June of 2009, I accepted the divine calling as a Bear Dancer in the Yokuts tradition with the Mississippi Bear Society. Bear energy is representative of strength, healing and going within; this has become a natural extension of my healing art practice. In 2016 I completed my seven year commitment with the Mississippi Bears and in March of 2018 woke up a new chapter of Bear Medicine here in my own neck of the woods along the Massachusetts coastline. “Bear” people just seem to show up at my door as these are the synchronicities of spirit (no coincidences!) BEAR’s message of late is "to bring the Stars back to the people."  Something to ponder!

Some of my other interests include sewing, gardening and writing. I self-published my first book in 2012 entitled “Divine Arrows”; a unique and artful weaving of personal odyssey, dream poetry and spirit food for thought. This book mirrors my own healing journey and is sure to arouse your interest as I share some undeniable synchronicities in life that affirm we are on the right track. My second book "The Cosmic Template; Shamanic Month Minder for the Evolving Soul" completed in 2016 and arose out of my own spiritual practice of living and working in harmony with the natural world around us. My third book is in the works! Both may be purchased from me directly or via Amazon.

Compassionate by nature, I take great joy in being a passionate spirit of the Earth and truly believe we are all here for a reason. My Bear Wisdom practice offers you a spiritual reflection of your own personal tapestry, a reflection that is necessary in life because ‘the eye cannot see itself’.

If you are looking to awaken your own natural gifts or searching for answers on your spiritual path, my goal and highest intention is to continue to be a facilitator of this process for those who are searching.

Out of respect for the original peoples of Mother Earth and the honoring of the Shaman of these places, I do not call myself a shaman. The title "Reiki Shamanism Master Teacher" is just that, a title that lets you know I practice and teach Reiki combined with shamanic practice. Likewise, I do not consider myself a Master of anything as I am still learning! I am a student as much as a teacher, as we all are.

I share what I have learned along the way in a good way, a medicine way, as I practice and teach the energy healing art known as Reiki and continue to learn through experiential shamanic practice.

Aho!
